Well the road bug bit me hard and since I dont ride offroad anymore I was losing more and more interest in my Mountain Bike..
So I went to craigslist and thru up a for trade. Got a sweet offer from a older Triathlete who was looking to give up the road game for more casual park cruising.
So we traded, I got his Lemond Alpe D'Huez and a Trek 7500 Hybrid for my Specialized Rockhopper Disc.
I love this bike its amazingly clean for almost 9 years old..

And a TREK 7500 or maybe 7.5 FX has been on my want list for a while as well.

However, I might be showing my age, but I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is old school about it.
My first decent road bike (a Miyata One-ten) had a lugged frame, down tube shifters and toe clips. An ugly-as-sin Bell Biker helmet and wool jersey completed the picture.

As for the Campy vs. Shimano debate, performance aside, you can't deny that Campagnolo puts such an artistic and stylish vibe on everything they do. When my Record stuff arrived last week, I was amazed by the beauty and almost wanted to display it more than using it. |

I prefer trail riding here. Jacksonville's state parks are just about all we offer here. |

Sweet bike, ibanezcollector. Looks like you have a mix of Shimano and Campy on that machine. I had a LeMond years ago (a bit older than yours, built from Reynolds 853). It was a really nice ride. |

Their frames are very stiff and very responsive to the application of power. On the right singletrack a Dale conveys not a feeling of riding but of flying low.
These days I am but a fat and slow cross country rider so my taste for frames lean towards all day comfort and now I ride a steel hardtail. http://www.sycip.com |

I'll agree that Campy certainly has an eye candy factor....that can really hit hard in the pocket book! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
