I don't know why for sure, but this picture really hit me. Funny, poigniant, mysterious. My wife thinks I'm nuts. Am I?

Is it a photo collage (photoshop), or was it actually staged? Or is it a photorealistic painting? Is it a random internet find or is there a known artist or what's the story? |

The Native American painting in the background looks familiar, but I can't place it. I'd like to find a high res version.

Shame that the helmet is too small for an adult head... it really hurts trying to get it on...
I'll bet, I mean... yeah.
