just wondering if anyone knows of a hostsite that allows for pictures/ movies to not be copied? i'd like to show someone some stuff, but i don't want that person to have the pictures or the movie. (no it's not about porn)

Here are some methods that get around the paradox of deleting an open file: http://catch22.net/tuts/selfdel. You could add a timer process sitting in memory (although you'd need programming experience to implement this stuff).
I've also seen suggestions that it might be possible to manipulate the headers in certain types of image files, so as to have a second header making a Java or VB delete call.
But there's no consumer program or service available to do what you want, and, as Chriss62 mentioned, there's nothing to keep anyone from hitting PrtScrn. Though you could include code to disable that key temporarily.
EDIT: I recall cyberpunk author William Gibson releasing a diskette in the 1990's, coded to reformat after one perusal. Seems kind of quaint now...

Including copyright info or a watermark is the closest thing to security you'll get. |
