Haven't even seen a deer hunting in about 5 years let alone be able to kill one. Anyone know a place in Michigan that sells tasty dead deer?
Mail order or market?
other not so common tasty animal meat links welcome. |

His home isn't to far from Great lakes crossing.
Going north on Joslyn and turning right onto Brooks street. He has a little sign up on the corner. |

They're on the west side of the road. It's a big log building with signs up about Venison, Jerky, Buffalo, etc. You can't miss it. I have a feeling that some of the bigger butcher shops sell it too. I can't imagine it's cheap, they're not an easy animal to raise, and they had a major TB outbreak about 10 years ago.

We have such a huge herd that we practically pay people to hunt. There are butchers who will process it for you. A lot of the meat gets donated to charity. |

There were som many deer there that the city payed sharp shooters to take out so many deer. The meat was then donated to local shelter i believe. I think it was around sixty deer, if I remember correctly. |

I know...I know.. art, music, sex, food are all pretty subjective to each individual... but HOW does venison look & taste? like beef, or very differant? Thanks |

So this is a good question for me as well. |

I actually went to school with the owners son and we were pretty good friends.
The place is called the Country Smokehouse. They are VERY well known and come deer season, there is a line to get into that place miles long, no joke. I highly recommend it and have purchased lots of meats from there myself and they are top quality.
