You can now be the subject of an FBI investigation simply based on your political views (aka, the expression of one of your fundamental rights)...

Enjoy!

If you're in the system, don't think for a second you aren't, at any moment, potentially bein monitored.

Where's my tinfoil hat again?

In my state, it is perfectly legal for the police to take anything from you that they want, so long as they say they felt like it could be linked to drugs.

That includes money in your wallet, bass cabs, the clothing that you are currently wearing, etc.

Exactly. Not a new issue then. However, this type of activity occurred long before the original patriot act.

The FBI could investigate you just for talking about pipe bombs. They might show up at my house tonight because of this post.

...It's nothing new, and it's also irrelevant, but I was staring at your post for I don't even know how long, and then I realized it was because I was staring at your profile picture.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Just because this isn't a new issue doesn't mean that it's not worthy of attention.

Have dinner and a beer ready for them! Put the pipes away too!

I would like to know that specific guidelines as to reasonable cause are in place to avoid unnecessary and illegitimate investigations. Right now. I do not know that such guidelines exist or what they may be.

Under the much-beloved Patriot Act, the FBI can investigate you if they THINK you MIGHT talk about pipe bombs. Or if they just don't like you. Fact. Civil rights are at a low ebb these days.

Fortunately, nobody here is really important enough for the government to care.

I just think it's funny that it was only resigned while the President was abroad. This law needs to go the way of the Dodo bird.
