Political Avatars

Sign in to disble this ad
I've seen a few TBers with new avatars displaying their favorite presidential candidates. I'm very put off by them; I thought TB was a politics-free zone.

I checked the rules and this doesn't seem to be prohibited. Politic topics are phohibited, but not avatars. . .

Anybody else feel this way?

i don't care, its only a picture.

don't you have a gun in your avatar? from the looks of things in off topic i'd say that offends quite a few people as well.....

It's been discussed in this forum before.

The mods have ruled that they're OK because it's just an avatar, not a thread containing political discussion.

Personally, I really don't care who has what for an avatar.

Political correctness becomes silly once ppl go out of their way to get offended.

Under "My Talkbass", "Edit Options", you can disable avatars. Problem solved.

I guess it's just that I come to TB to talk mostly about music and bass, and I'm running away from the 24/7 media coverage of the campaign. . .

But, yes, you all have good points, it's just freedom of expression and an avatar don't harm anybody.

Fixed it.

In the past I admit to putting up some very oblique political avatars, not to mention Custom User captions.

I confess that I was only trying to annoy FL Knifemaker and not anyone else....

So you'd be cool with me having Hitler as my avatar then? I mean - he was a politician.
