The Poor Man's Big Mac

So, since I've gotten so much valuable information from this site, I think I'll give some back.

So, you're hankering for a Big Mac, however you dont have the $3.50 or so required to purchase one. What do you do? The answer in three easy steps.

1. Order a McDouble
2. Substitute ketchup and mustard for Mac sauce
3. Add shredded lettuce

And there you have it, for $1.00-$1.10 (depending on if they charge for lettuce) you get a Big Mac, sans the bun with sesame seeds, and the middle bun.

Good idea, although I can't say I'm a big mac fan. Were I to ever find myself with a hankering for the 'mac, I'd keep that in mind though

They seem smaller than I remember them growing up, more like an asian Macdonald's standard patty size as opposed to the normal US size.

Not that I jones for a Big Mac that often, but.....
Sorry. Fail!

Ketchup and mustard do not, Special Sauce, make (not even close).
Ketchup and Mayo (also available free) mixed are almost identical to "Special Sauce".
(Not that this thread was that enlightening in the first place)

I think you're confused.

He is claiming that the McDouble has ketchup and mustard on them standardly, and that you can request them to remove those condiments and put the actual "Mac sauce" on.

The actual content of said sauce was not mentioned, nor is it really relevant to his strategy.

So...do you want fail with that?

I think he's referring to the special sauce, which is essentially 1000 island sauce (I.E.- Ketchup, Mayo and a few other things).

You can keep the fail.

Wow, that's super, but of no relevance at all. I know what he's referring to, but once again, the content of the sauce is not being disputed, it wasn't mentioned originally, and has no importance in regards to this amazing thread.

I really don't see the difficulty in this.

1)Order a McDouble.
2)Ask them to add lettuce.
3)Ask them to replace the standard ketchup and mustard that are found on the McDouble with the Mac sauce.

In this process, are any claims being made about the content of the Mac sauce? No.

Amazing.

Wow, didn't think you'd take it so personally.

Nothing was taken personally, it just seemed like a simple concept. The confusion baffled me.

Besides, accusations of "fail" are not to be taken lightly on the interwebz!!11ONE

He said:
"2. Substitute ketchup and mustard for Mac sauce"

Unless you're dyslexic (or just bad at English), to substitute is to put in place of something else that would normally be there.
Proper time line of the statement, Grasshoppah.

Now later you fix it:

Much clearer and, more importantly, event correct in terms of what was (trying) to be conveyed (assuming this is what he really meant).

If he meant it the way you wrote it? No. If he meant it the way he wrote it? Yes! Content would be the absolute crux of his statement.
Not so "amazing". Books without pictures just need to be a little more correctly descriptive.

But, more importantly, how can you guys say the sauce doesn't matter?!? It's what makes a Big Mac taste different than....say....a McDouble!

Thank You! (I think )

All in good fun, gentlemen.
