Pope knocked down

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone seen this on the news,
Pope Benedict XVI knocked down at midnight mass

some woman jumped over the barrier at Midnight Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City and knocked down Pope Benedict XVI. Think he's okay, but boy the security messed up there. That's twice in a Month that a leading figure in Italy has been attacked (I know, Vatican City is a separate country, but you know what I mean).

Don't intend this as either a religious or political thread, but something that seems quite news worthy that I haven't seen a thread for.

I probably shouldn't, but i think that's kinda funny. As long as nobody's hurt, i'm gonna laugh at this.

Security has to strike a balance between accessibility and safety. Most people are wise enough to not breach the security barriers, but the unbalanced or those who are determined to do ill aren't.

They've got some pretty stylin' halberds, too. No idea if they know how to use them, but I like the idea.

I've never seen so many jokes in a thread with somewhat serious subject matter.

That is the holiday spirit, you guys!

It's funny how, watching it, you can instantly tell who is going to do it!

edit: Dang, looks like he broke his leg and continued the service!

Not that I wish any harm on the man, but if the Pope is afraid of dying, that doesn't bode too well for the rest of Christianity, does it?

Plus I read that he was fine, he just got grabbed, and fell down. I guess he's not so 'infallible,' now is he? *rimshot*
