Portable Laptop Speakers

I'm in the market for some quality laptop speakers that I can hook up to my computer whenever I'm in my apartment or when I'm out on a trip. I'm not looking for anything amazing here, but I'd love for them to:

1. Not require too much real estate on my desk
2. Not be too expensive (sub $50)
3. Be able to put out bass frequencies

So yeah! If any of you guys have any suggestions about what's good on the market then I'd definitely love to hear from you.
