Back where I went through the first part of my life the coal dust was so thick that everyone had emo eyes. We were too stupid to know what that was though. EPA and the mines shutting down cleaned everything up before we could find emo. Guess we were terminally un-kewl.

delayed-onset emo... i've seen it happen, though i'm still not entirely sure what 'emo' is- like, is it the clothing? the hair? the elitism? the bands? the celebrity? the music?

there are plenty of bands i consider to be 'emo' and plenty of my friends in their early to mid thirties are turning on to them. and you better believe me and my homemade denim motorhead jacket make fun of them for it. but these friends of mine aren't all elitist like the 'emo' kids who are super into those same bands... i think it's more just a problem of getting old and not giving a **** about what people think and just start listening to more music...

but those bands still suck, as far as i'm concerned.

sure...

Emo has replaced fast, red cars as the expression of choice for the mid-life crisis.

I don't need to be "emo", I have a 10-year-old kid leaning how to do it for me.

I didn't see this before. I was at the mall smoking clove cigarettes behind the Hot Topic because my Mom hates me.

I still don't quite understand how "emo" went from describing a very non-mainstream and anti conformity sub-genre of the 80s D.C. hardcore scene to describing fashion-centric radio-pop rock 'tweener music.
