My sink is clogged. I know where it is - past the Y-pipe that connects the disposal drain and the sink drain. I know what it is - ground beef.

But my %$@%# auger gets caught on the same %@#$%! corner every #$%*&! time I push it down there, and it's hit-or-miss as to whether the %(*#$@#8little*&&^&$()tomato@#$#@abrahamlincoln#$@ #$ actually goes down to where the clog is. I've been at this an hour and a half and needed a break.

looks like you will have to remove the trap to get to the clog. this could get smelly.

I did remove the trap on the disposal side. I'm going in from under the sink, parallel to the ground, straight into the disposal horizontal drain pipe.

you could try compressed air.

not advised on an older house.

edit: you said into the disposal.
do not try compressed air unless you want that stuff all over your kitchen

what is wrong with the disposal that it didn't sufficiently grind the stuff before sending it through?

perhaps the expensive yet lazy solution is the only one.

replace disposal.

Use concentrated Sulfuric acid, but first make sure you don't have metal drains and protect yourself (gloves, safety glasses and mouthcap). Dissolves any organic material (including yourself).

I would think the toilet being clogged would be worse.

In the end I succeeded. What a pain in the butt! It was messy and not a lot of fun, but it saved us a call to the plumber.
