Anyone know of any high quality post apocalyptic movies that ARE good. I'm sick so there's not much to do.

Escape from New York, it's not post apocalyptic, but kinda has the same vibe

Watch Sci-Fi's Battlestar Galactica, and start with the mini-series/movie.

Terminator 2 is kind of Post-Apocalyptic...

edit: but why Post-Apocalyptic? If you're looking for good movies, there are a bunch of other styles that will serve you better.

There are some bad movies in that genre: Battlefield Earth, Waterworld....

"Twelve Monkeys" might fall into the post-apocalyptic category, and it's pretty good. Same with "Children of Men".

Thumbs up

Almost the same exact order I was going to recommend too..

Dark City's such a good, underrated movie.

Maybe not "Apocalypse" per se, but Children of Men & Equilibrium are both great movies about what happens after **** gets real.

Before I get nitpicked, yeah they're Dystopian too.

Just to nitpick these movies are considered "Dystopian" not "Post Apocalyptic"

Have ever read Dune? The movies blow. However the books are after what he calls the "Butlerian jihad" which is where all man kind agreed that computer technology was corrupting humanity and weakening the human mind.

Any documentary's on Africa? Thats like mad max, just more gruesome and realistic.

Blade Runner

You must get the directors cut.

Edit: Blade Runner is sometimes classified as 'cyberpunk'
