It was built a little over a year ago, and I will be ordering some more memory seeing how it's so cheap right now.
Specs:
Intel Q6600 Running @ 3.0 w/Theramalright Ultra 120 Extreme
eVGA 8800GT SC running at SSC speeds 705/1762/2000
Abit IP35 Pro
2 gig Patriot extreme DDR2 800
Western Digital 500gig HDD
2X Lite On DVD\CD recorders
PC&C 750W Quad silencer.
Antec P182 case
Samsung 226BW 22" monitor.
OS Vista 64 bit, Ultimate
Here's some numbers I got. Not too shabby for when it was built
Here's the one it replaced with my artsy little custom paint job. Now that's dorky!
Somebody should dig up pics of JT's computer build if he doesn't chime it.

Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2GHz, for now, with a Thermalright HS and a huge Delta fan running at 7v 'cause it's too damn loud at full speed
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
4GB GSkill DDR2 1000
Sapphire Radeon HD4870 512MB, stock speeds
2x 500GB and 1x 250GB WD Hard drives
LG Blu-ray drive and a LiteOn DVDRW
BFG 800w PSU (way overkill, hehe)
Vizio VO37LF 1080p HDTV as my monitor for now, when I get my htpc setup I'll be using my old 22" Acer
Here's a couple pics from my crappy camera phone:

Intel Dual Core 1.8GHz
2GB DDR2
20GB + 250GB Hard Drives
DVDRW Drive
600W Power supply
ATI Radeon HD3650 graphics card
Creative X-Fi Xtreme sound card
Outside shot to show case window and lights.
Desktop shot. Samsung Syncmaster 17" Monitor, Saitek GM-3200 mouse, Saitek Eclipse II keyboard. You can just about see the outline of my Logitech 5.1 speakers, and my stereo, 600GB external hard drive, digital radio and Line 6 Toneport GX are also in the pic.
Closeup of keyboard with room lights off to show backlit keys. Currently on purple, but also does red and blue.

And most of all, why would you ever need such a beastly machine in a house, lol?! Then again if it's one of those things that controls your homes functions that owuld make a lot of sense...

Then again if it's one of those things that controls your homes functions that owuld make a lot of sense... | A simple question, and a simple answer ....I use it for heavy-duty 3D intensive work so it's partly used to make a living in combination with my day job. There is income I make from this machine.
I built it the summer of '06 and at that time, the dual-cores were just coming out but I didn't opt for it. (Too expensive when they first hit the market)
I'd say the total cost of that machine if I remember was somewhere between $3200-$4000
(Those graphics cards cost around $800 a piece)
EDIT: In response to your question, once I had all the parts delivered it only took a day to put everything together, install the OS, etc.
The LED's were just the loser screaming out inside of me
