Posting a Photo W/O a link?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys when posting photos on let's say .....myspace for instance, how do you post the picture via photobucket but without having a link. I don't want people clicking on the photos and being directed to sign in into my photobucket account. I'm a few steps in the photobucket/myspace world so any help is appreciated. thanks!

They should already have <>, I only separated those out so as to not be posting "real" code that might not show up onscreen in the intended way. Some forums are weird that way.

The code I typed should not be a clickable link. It would become a clickable link if it was surrounded by {a href="the address"} and {/a} codes.

Remove everything except the <img src="directlinktotheimage">

The <a href>...</a> tag is the link part.

i feel like a bleeping moron for asking this again but i can't seem to be able to do the whole post a pic without the url anymore. i've been doing it for months but for some reason when posting an ad today i completely forgot again. it seems like since i've been gone for so long....i forgot. even through i'm reading all this and trying to do the proper code i keep messing it up.

<img src="http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m20/atdichris/johnwaterssnarl-2.jpg" border="0">

why does this not include the image. what else do i need.

man do i feel like a moron....

Here's what you do.

On photobucket, copy the text next to "IMG code", which is the bottom one of the four codes that pop up when you mouse over the thumbnail of your pic (under the facebook/twitter logos).

Then insert that IMG code into the text of your post like this:

done.

Here's what it looks like: (IMG]http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f245/bartmanpdx/Sadowskys/IMG_1799.jpg[/IMG) -- where the first and last parentheses are replaced with square brackets.

yea i know how to do that and that's what i've been doing, but i have this weird thing that i don't like people clicking on the photo and going into a new window. like bongo and l-a were saying....i could take out certain parts of the html code and be able to not have it show up. for instance go up to bongo's post and you can't click on my photo. i used to know how to do that....but i'm a moron hahhaa

Plan B: Host your photos in a Facebook account?

After uploading your pics to a Fb account just right-click on one and:

- choose Copy Image Location from the pop-up menu (doing this will copy the pic's URL link to the operating system's invisible clipboard)

- then (if posting on TalkBass) click Go Advanced at the bottom of a TB Message window and in said window left-click where you want the pic to appear

- and then click the at the top of the window and in the Please enter the URL of your image: pop-up window URL box, paste over the highlighted http:// by right-clicking and choosing Paste from the pop-up menu (doing this will paste the contents of the clipboard into said URL box).

- then click the OK button.

Now below the two rows of smilies at the bottom of the TalkBass post window, click Preview Post to see how the pic looks in your post.

I don't know how things are done over at MySpace but it's likely to be similar.
