The Price Is Right Cars..

so i noticed today on the price is right that all the cars they showcased were honda's and foreign cars. Is this a sign of the times?

i have a toyota and love it but just wondering if cbs is thinking that american cars aren't going to be around much longer?

your thoughts?

I've seen plenty of domestic cars on the Price is Right. I think they get them in batches, or they set up deals with local dealers. I don't think there's a trend towards imports.

I think I read this somewhere as well. A couple weeks ago, it was all Fords and Lincoln/Mercury models.

It varies according to what promotional deals the manufacturers strike up with the show's producers.

FWIW, my niece's college roommate won a Ford Focus on the show a few years ago.

I remember in my teenage years, Janice and the other models on The Price is Right wore some of the shortest skirts on TV. That was truly wonderful.

I read somewhere that for the entire time that Bob Barker hosted, he had a strict rule that any car on the show had to be from the Big 3. Once he left, they started including imports.

I haven't watched it since Drew Carey took over, but I remember it being 95% Chevys, Ford's, Jeeps, Pontiac, Saturn, etc. Basically all American cars.

There were plenty of foreign cars on back in the day. I remember seeing more than a few Datsun B210 Honey-Bee's given as prizes in the late 70's..... God. I'm Old!

I always liked Holly (the red haired girl) from the old TPIR, but after seeing this pic I'd consider letting the girls on either end make a Mike N sandwich.
