I work in a large bank doing back office investigations for international payments.

90% of my day im on Talkbass.com or an online game. I cant seam to stop and get on with any work, there is always a new post or new thread I want to read.

Its 2pm now, im working 8am - 4pm and I must have done an hours work all day. I know I should work, but I cant get into the mind set. im too busy pricing up new bass's, parts, amps and reading drivle :P

Does anyone else have this problem??

If you're accomplishing all of your daily goals then I woudl say you're fine. If you are shurking your responsibilities in order to spend more time on TB, then you'll likely find yourself out of a job soon and will be able to spend all of your time on TB.

Can I have your job?

It sounds like we spend our work day doing nearly the same thing...but I imagine you get paid significantly more than I do.

It depends on the conditions of your employment. If your work is task-driven and it only takes an hour or so each day to meet the objectives, then no harm - no foul. If you will receive no incentives to do more than your minimum daily tasks, it shouldn't matter what you do with the balance of your time.

Of course, this assumes that your employer is cool with this, as well .... every work place is different. It also assumes that you have almost no desire to get further ahead in your chosen career ....

I'm logged onto TB all day, every day .... but I'm not sitting here reading each and every post. I pull up the page every once in a while and give it a quick read-through, then go back to work. I never let any on-line stuff interfere with my work ....
