What professions in you'r observation seem to have the biggest egos among its practitioners ? In my observations I would have to say Professors/ Administrators within University's as well as Clergy.

Pilots. I don't work with them, but almost everyone I know is big-headed.

Generally, mid-level managers, with emphasis on engineering and marketing.

The absolutely *most* egotistical profession ... politicians.

IT guys, especially admins.

I'm an IT guy too, but some of these dudes need to step off and let everyone work together to get a project done already.

i've worked in books for a while, and in my experience, humour writers.

the more their career depends on being likeable, witty and breezy in print, the bigger the monster they are in real life!

Doctors, lawyers, professors. Keep in mind, just SOME of them. Certainly not all.

Computer technicians.

I'm always taken by the "I can't believe how stupid you are because you don't know what I know" attitude they exude.

Oh yeh, and some bass players I've met. To paraphrase Jeff Berlin, "you manipulate a chunk of wood and wire and somehow you believe you are a god among men??!!"

Tsk.

'K, I'm back.

Engineers? They're all nerds. How can they have big heads?

Seriously, though, I seldom encounter anyone who is exceptionally egotistical. It happens so rarely that I'm always slightly taken aback, then amused by them. Big heads are a lot of fun to jack around.

I'd have to agree, I'm an Admin myself but some of the least experienced ones I run into have the largest god complexes.
You're going to complain about how stupid your users are then ask me how to do a DC promo. Go back to the help desk and STFU.

Other than that young middle management that's only there because daddy put them there.
