The non-Alien prequel prequel...

Whos gonna go?

Always wanted to see more of the "space jockey" and a cool back-story to them.

Plus with Ridley doing his thing, might actually make up for the horrid alien vs. predator and anything past Aliens..

And honestly, how many here were in a band named LV426?

I've been interested in the Space Jockey since I saw Alien at the cinema (yes, I'm that old). Even more so since the alien itself went from being a fascinating and elegantly horrific "perfect organism" to very ordinary "bug" within the space of one movie.

I'm from the same neck of the woods as Ridley Scott and I'm really hoping that he's on form with this one.

Of course, any film that deals with a spacefaring culture that has airlocks that look like giant ladyparts should prove to be quite intriguing.

Can't wait to see it. Does anyone know if Sigourney Weaver is making a cameo appearance?

No Sigourney Weaver. These events predate Alien by 30+ years, and tho existing in the same universe do not lead up to the events in Alien, quite the opposite.

I have been counting down this film and watching every last tidbit of info with great interest, bordering on obsession, yet comforted that Ridley has not even given away a fraction of what he has in store with this movie.

It's going to be insane. Of that there is no doubt. Thrilled.

I'm excited about the "David 8." I think Michael's a great actor and he's going to have a big part in this movie and it's AWESOMENESS!

I meant, like a different role/character like a doctor or scientist as a cameo walk-on.

The computer terminal, in the command center of the freighter in the original ALIEN, wasn't it called "Mother"?
The problem with prequels is that the world in the prequel looks more technologically advanced than the original.

I can't wait to see it. Ever since I saw the preview on YouTube I've been looking forward to it. Should be great from the little I've seen.

Yes, but would you spend 15 bucks to see a modern 3d movie featuring monochrome CRT monitors and commodore keyboards? Nope.

It could also be argued that the Nostromo tug was a well-out of service life contract vessel used for deep space freight use and therefore not needing the best and the brightest tech to serve its purpose, unlike the Prometheus which is the Weyland Corp's pet project deep space scientific flagship vessel...of course it's gonna be glitzy...

*raises hand sheepishly*

My most successful band was called Fuzzy Logic. We arrived at that name after MANY other choices were tried out. LV426 was one of those other choices. We never gigged under that name. We just considered it for a while.
