Never had one.

I avoid the doctor like I avoid being ripped apart by an angry bear.

Good luck.

It's no big deal. You should expect a gloved, lubricated hand to be shoved up your backside. It's over before you know it. Hopefully, nothing bad is found.

They also wipe a treated pad to test for enzymes that could indicate rectal, colon or prostate cancer. Some places want to use a small scope to look for inflamation, lesions and or pollups. That's usually if something shows up in the standard exam.

Yep, that's pretty much how it goes:
Me: Been playin' any golf lately?
Doctor: Yeah, got out a few weeks ago with my son, hit the ball great but putted terribly.
Me: Story of my life. Except for the "hit the ball great" part. Did I tell you I played Pinehurst #2 a couple months ago?
Doctor: Did you? Wow! Fantastic course. How'd you manage that?
Me: Worked a contact I had, and..
Doctor: Pull down your pants, turn around and prop yourself up on your elbows for a minute..
Me: Yeah, so I actually hit six greens in regulation, but wow that course is tough, and........

Me: So, you takin' me out to dinner now?

These days I wish I would have shopped around for a petite Asian woman with small fingers when I was in need of a health care professional. As it stands now, I have a Dr. by the name of Guido with hairy knuckles. If only I would have known!!!

Ha-haaaa...

Actually a gloved lubricated FINGER goes up there... not the whole hand... hopefully...

Mine have always went just fine... no pain... a tiny bit embarrassing (if you feel like complaining about it go talk to your wife/grilfriend about what THEY have to go through)...

...the most disconcerting thing is when I notice during the procedure that the doctor has both hands grasping my shoulders.

Be sure and have a burrito the night before!!

Enjoy...

I've had to just bend over before and the last few years have had to lie on my side in the fetal position... I thought that sort of weird but... whatever.

BTW... you may want to refrain from informing your doctor of your Talkbass handle...

Me too. I'm 55. I've had a few of them plus the PSA where they take a blood test -- all routine. I was lucky; they said my prostate was still the size of a teenager's.
