PS3: BLINKING RED LIGHT!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
hi fellow gamers/bassist,
who here besides me has experienced the frustration of having your beloved playstation shut down for no apparent reason? i know Sony will tell you that heat killed your CPU or GPU, but heat was not my problem on the day it failed. heat may have contributed over time.
during my search for solutions i've noticed a majority of victims blaming MW2 and system updates as possible causes!
apparently, MW2 multiplayer is pushing PS3 too hard. well, i don't play online and i don't play that often. i'm also a victim of the RROD but atleast Microsoft replaced my xbox free of charges after a class action law-suit.
are any of you familiar??? if so, chime in!

did you try to reset the settings on it? sometimes that works.

sadly it didn't work for mine and I had to get it replaced

Ive had my 80GB backwards compatable PS3 for a few years now and have had no problems with it. It is starting to sound rather loud though when Im running it, I think I need to take it apart and dust it out. Was yours making noises before it crapped out?

A few of my friends have the first gen PS3's which had the PS2 hardware inside aswell as the PS3, none of them have had issues. Seems like they were made better!

I'd agree with that, I've only got one of the newer ones (the "slim" model, 2250Gb) and that is the big problem I have with it. My bro had a PS2 and I used to have a couple games for it. But I'm not going to go out and buy a used PS2 just for a handful of games.

But anyways!
