Okay, so I have this gig today in this library, some festival. My band decided to tell me 5:30, when it's actually at 8:45, so I'm stuck here on the public computers, wasting my time until the gig.
But here's the thing, I'm creeped.
There's a guy two computers down to me cursing and screaming at YouTube, saying stuff like 'What the ****' and '****in' bitches' to himself. Then somebody laughed across the room, and he stood up and stared them down. He's got a disgusting shirt and ripped up jeans. Probably around 35. He's also listening to hard metal. Rat-tail haircut.
Another guy behind me. He got pulled out by an older police officer. He was talking to a heavier woman, going like 'I could smell alcohol on her breath, I don't give a ****!'. Then the cop told him to cool it, and he went 'I HAVE A BETTER IDEA. HOW 'BOUT I LEAVE', and stormed off. I laughed quite loud and the cop gave me an 'Oh, jesus' look as he persued after him to give him a good talking-to.
Some 60-year-old is playing Runescape next to me. His shirt's brown and he smells bad.
My keyboard's greasey and the mouse is sticky. I'm using Internet Explorer 5 (not 6, 5's even OLDER; it's basically Netscape).
But there's also normal people, like a nice couple 20-something sitting across the room looking on craigslist for cars. At least somebody's not gaming. There's also a casual black guy on MySpace. I'm on TB.
The heavy metal guy just went 'MY ASS' again. I actually think he has tourettes, no joke.
Well, I'm bored. Give me something to do to make my time here in this messed up place fun. edit: Yeah, I took time to lurk at what all these people were doing. The YouTube guy just pulled his monitor to the very edge of the desk and the keyboard is being held by one hand, banging it with his other. ***.

I'd go for a walk rather than stay there.

The locals tell their kids that if they don't get good grades, they'll end up on the library lawn Now we have a new library building, with no lawn. I wonder what parents will threaten slacking teenagers with.
