Then she said how she was insulted the Cardinals "only" offered five years at $130 million. Some people have lost touch with reality. This woman has.

So is the deity she believes in named Santa Claus? Just curious. Even he would put coal in her stocking for her greed and lack of gratefulness.

I agree that's a ridiculously greedy attitude. But if you look at how much money the teams earn based off of the players it makes a little more sense. Those clubs earn billions each year, it's only fair the players who are actually out on the field get a decent slice.

I get what you're saying but I still can't get past the fact there are people struggling to get by on 30k a year or less in this country, and yet someone is getting millions for playing with a BALL. Yes I know playing sports professionally is demanding but that's all it is in the end. A GAME with a BALL...I just can't wrap my mind around it.

Sure wish those in the real world did that. Look at manufacturing companies making billions and paying the workers a menial wage. That's not fair. Screw them all. (yes, I'm whining )

You think with all that money they're making they could all agree to take a smaller cut and lower ticket prices. Who knows, they might actually get more visitors out per game (and more money) when ticket prices don't start around $60...

That's actually one of the reasons I never got into watching sports. Even at 10 years old I couldn't understand why anyone would want to pay $40-$200 to watch some guys throw a ball around in those horribly uncomfortable seats for 4 hours and then have to pay $10 for a cold hot dog and $12 for a flat coke.

That kind of money should not be anyone's wage.
Entertainers are placed at too high a commodity.
Imagine what even a fraction of that wage could do in this country for those without.

... Except that it wouldn't go to "those without". Asking what entertainment money would do for "those without" is a wee bit ridiculous, especially considering that "those without" are some of the ones who insist on entertainment. They patronize sporting events, movies, concerts, cable sports programs, etc. With the exception of some public dollars used to fund stadiums, entertainment funding is completely voluntary, and comes from the consumers.

No one forces a professional athlete or entertainer to take a large salary. It is available, and as a result, they can make it. If enough consumers decided that a professional sporting event was only worth $3.00/ticket, it would only cost $3.00/ticket. Same goes for music concerts, movies, etc. Advertisers would pull out, and there would be a significant decrease in the money of sports / entertainment.

So what you are talking about is maintaining the cost of entertainment exactly as it is, and forcing the owners / players / etc. to "donate" the profits to "those without". Or worse, to force those who could care less about popular entertainment (such as myself) to pay for "those without", which is blatant theft.

If you don't like it - don't patronize it.

I don't blame Pujols for taking the biggest offer, I bet most of us would. But his wife's attitude is just silly.

Wow... No wonder the rest of the world hates us! Who in their right minds believes they are entitled to that many millions of dollars? And really, how many millions does it REALLY take to live? When millions of others worldwide are starving, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I was making that much money, too much guilt...

After a certain point, say 5 mil a year(10 if they're paying out child support to a slew of kids) how is the income justified?

Bottom line...You get paid to play games

I'm sick of hearing the BS about the teams bringing in X amount of dollars so the players deserve their money. It's absolute crap. you play baseball, I sit at a desk... STFU.

The income generated by sports team could tear a huge chunk out of states' flailing economies if they would get back down to reality and remember where they came from.

Especially when her only job is to have sex with Pujols.
