I always wanted to see it, but never got around to going to the theater. It was on Encore last night at like 2AM, so I recorded it. I am going to watch it with my wife later on today.

I thought it was a bit disappointing. It had potential but I felt like there was a large piece of the story that was missing. It seemed to end too quickly, without really exploring the struggles of the protagonist.

I didn't like it too much- it makes it seem as if money is how to be happy.

Great movie. However, the real Chris Gardner is more incredible in person. I had the amazing opportunity to hear him speak at my college and a little meet and greet afterwards.

I bought the book and if you like the movie, then you will absolutely love the book. The story is complete and the movie didn't tell the complete story. I also met Chris Gardner and played with a band at one of his book signing events at his office. The movie also didn't tell how he grew up playing trumpet and wanted to be the next Miles Davis. He told us that in person and requested "All Blues" and never once took his eyes off the band during the sets. In the book he also describes his fascination with the trumpet as well.
