Heard this word on some sports show...somebody called out another player saying he should stop being so pusillanimous....

just a nice way to say to stop being a......umm......well...."meow"...thought it was kinda funny

Lacking courage and resolution : marked by contemptible timidity

Or, as Leon Uris would have written in the classic book Battle Cry, "candy-assed."

a friend of mine used that word in song lyrics. he rhymed it with "smoke some cannabis". i thought it was pretty good!

EDIT the couplet was as follows (in a sort of shuffle, 3/4 timing):

You are so pusillanimous
Why don't you smoke some cannabis?

reproduced without permission, obv...

I remember from "Lassie," Timmy's grandfather used that word. He called someone a "pusillanimous polecat."
