This put it in perspective for me

I've personally been pushing myself to surf as much and as often as possible, and sometimes the conditions aren't all that great. Sometimes it's too windy, or it's too small, or whatever other excuse I find for not motivating and paddling out for a surf, but seeing this video really kind of hit home for me how lucky I am in so many other aspects of my life besides just surfing. It's definitely encouraged me to be a little more rigorous in my paddling out no matter what with no expectations approach. Enjoy.

Get to paddling, you p****!

Seriously, if you decide not to paddle, that's fine. Just make sure you replace it with something else that celebrates how awesome life is - laughing/playing/goofing-off with your son is a good alternate.

Wait..... you have to FORCE yourself to surf??

Try moving to Ohio next winter, and you'll be unable to hold yourself back when someone offers to go surfing.

Yeah, definitely makes me think. I guess if you REALLY want to do something or love it enough, you'll find a way to do it no matter what the obstacle.

The filmmaker did an awesome job of conveying the amount of effort it takes for the surfer to catch a relatively meager sized wave,...nice vid,...thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing that--definitely puts things in perspective. The Album Leaf as the background music was also a nice touch; worked really well with the video.
