Nice hi-res video. Some hellish footage: http://video.nationalgeographic.com/...t-rock-python/

I ate some antelope/beef jerky yesterday.

Not bad, but not worth $2/stick.

My wife's jaws are perhaps as powerful as the rock python - she's capable of nagging me to death. Different than suffocation but equally effective.

Why is it that so many times that I'm watching a video on the web, I find myself yelling, "ZOOM OUT ZOOM OUT! I CAN'T SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING!!!"

Because the yoke behind the camera is looking at a small screen, not through an eyepiece like someone who does it for a living.

A mongoose is not going to take out a large Python. Cobras are actually fairly slow striking snakes which gives a mongoose an advantage. Long ago, mongooses were introduced to the Caribbean, and they were overmatched by the local pit vipers like the Bushmaster and Fer-de-lance.

I saw one two weeks ago on Nat Geo of a python eating an alligator in the Florida Everglades. I guess it's become a huge problem to the eco system down there because of pet pythons being let go, and multiplying.

I know it can't kill a 20+ foot 125+ pound snake, I just thought the video was cool.

Some hunts for these pythons are authorized as well.

I find it beautiful, disturbing and frightening all at once. Much like my marriage, or childraising. Or the occasional gig
