Quality beer in the DC/MD/VA area?

I am not familiar with beer at all but I was wondering if there are some cool brews that are exclusive to the DMV area? There are a couple of TBers That I owe big time and I figured this would be a cool way to pay them back .

Flying Dog and Wild Goose are both from Frederick MD, though FD started in Colorado.
Dog Fish Head is sort-of local (DE)
Old Dominion started in VA but has moved to DE.

Flying Dog is good if you want to get someone a 6-pack. If you want to take someone out, Gordon Biersch and Capital City are both good. They're both chains, but they brew their own beer on-site and they have good burgers.

When I was in MD earlier this year I was really impressed by DuClaw Brewery. Probably my favorite red ale out of all I've tried. Good porter. The rest was enjoyable but not mind blowing (although in fairness I'm a red ale and porter kinda guy, so the others were outside my sphere of preferrence).
