Question about Paypal

I had another TBer send me money for a bass yesterday and PayPal says its "under review" for 24 hours with a little red flag next to the transaction. I havent used PP much at all, but is this normal? I have never had something like it happen to me before. I really want the money to clear so I can ship the bass and use the money on other things, and this delay is rather large inconvenience. Just wondering what you frequent PP users have experienced with this in the past. Thanks!

Never seen that. I've had them hold funds from eBay transactions for 20 days, but that's old news now.

I never use them anymore for this very reason.

ya, its not an ebay sale, and in fact, I had someone else send me money this morning through paypal with no issues what so ever.

Try to call paypal customer service and ask what's up. I have been able to get questions answered before by them.

review

I had it happen. Sold my 69' P bass last winter and that happened. It took weeks to get the money out. I had to fax them proof of address and other stuff. It was a pain in the ....

I just talked to them and they said 24 hours with a max of 48 hours...we'll see

Could be on the buyers end. As I remember it was because we moved and updated the CC's on the account and such. Good luck.

did they tell you 24 hours too? I know its not on my end, they said that they were holding it to check for fraud and whatnot etc etc

I had one that took about a week before it cleared. it didn't matter to me I just waited it out.

ya, well, I have bills crawling down my neck at the moment, thats why Im selling the bass. Thats why its so **** inconvenient

I asked the buyer to call paypal to see if he could straighten things out

My thought was that the transaction was held up because of some third party scrutiny not that anything nefarious was afoot.
