Question for all you scientists out there in TB Land

So, I have been working in a pretty big music store for about three months now. I have noticed something very very interesting that I have not come across any where else.

Apparently, since it is the proper season, there have been a numerous amount of flies buzzing around. They are your average domestic house fly, but they do not act like it.

Normally, flies react 12 times faster then any human due to their complex eyes. But these flies have a substantially reduced reaction time. I can easily swat them down.

Further more, these flies will land on a keyboard as I am playing it, and will not fly away as I press up and down on the key an inch away. I have put my hand next to them, had them crawl on me, and even handed the fly to a customer, who then handed it to his son.

So my question is, and I searched on Google and found no information, does loud volume have an effect on these flies that make them really chill? Is it music, or loud noise in general?

Does anyone else work at a music store, such as guitar center that might have noticed similar behavior?

Ahh. Air conditioning... I never took that into consideration.

Yes, there is a good amount of air conditioning units that keep the store at a cool temperature so all the instruments, especially wooden ones don't get messed up. I assume that this could be the agent causing the flies to act in such a manner?

Maybe a lot of musicians? Lots of second hand combustables?
Put out a do-nut and watch them flies go nuts.

Yep. Air-conditioning. When we get them in the house, I pop on the air for a while then slaughter the little bastages. if I dont do that I'll never catch em

No No...

It is loud music that slows the flies down.

The wife must know that so she does not complain during practice time

So, at your large music store you have slow, lethargic, dim-witted creatures that are so apathetic they don't even bother to move even when in mortal danger? Pretty obvious bro...they work there. Must be a Guitar Center.
