I got one for x-mas because I friggin despise the Ipod/Itunes crapola.
Its great and I love it, but I have noticed something strange. When I add albums to my zune folder (12 to be exact), it breaks them up into 22 or so "unknown albums" and they only have a few songs a piece in them. These were downloaded via torrent as they are old and out of circulation.
Anyone else have a issue like this?
thanks!

thanks! | Sounds like it's not a Zune issue, but that the tags on the files you downloaded are wrong.

| Yes, yes it did...but only on DMB for the most part...I generally rip my own CD's/swap music...I happened to be really into DMB when kazzaa was in its prime.
BTW, I purchase a great deal of albums(including a few of Dave's), just not all of them.

I had this on a brand new album that even downloaded the CDDB info because someone put the artist in with the guest artists on that particular song. One album had 6 different artists.
When this happens, I make the artists the same and add the guest artists to the song name or the notes field, so the albums can stay as they were meant to be.

I still don't see how anyone can try and use I-tunes and not claw their own eyeballs out.

But I hated everything about Zune as much or more. Truthfully, neither program is very useful to me, and there are far better applications out there for managing music. I don't think there is any room for either side of the Zune/iTunes camps to call the other side crappy. The both suck equally well. At least with iTunes and Apple products you have more options for accessories and features. I was always ho-hum about iPods, and I've never been a fan of Mac products as complete replacements for a good PC, but I love my iPhone and wouldn't give it up for anything. The next Windows Mobile better be killer cause I don't know if they can catch up with Apple with the momentum they've built.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Springfield, Illinois | | | My wife has an ipod. And what I find ridiculous is that when I copy a CD to my hard drive I have to open I-tunes and jump through hoops to get the music to the ipod. Granted I still have some hoops to jump through with my zune. I Don't want the music to be restricted to I-tunes. I want it in a folder on my HD where I can physically get to it without having to look at the i-tunes interface. I still find the zune program more flexible than I-tunes.
I had no intention of turning this into a I-tunes vs. Zune thread. If you all like being handcuffed to I-tunes thats A-ok with me. Its just not my bag. I was just asking for a little assistance.
Thanks to those who helped.
