I know there are quite a few of you here on this forum so I figured this would be a good place to poll your personal/professional opinion about the weather or not certain cancers or the risk of getting it are lower in your group then those who eat meat?
I have personally read about this and what I have read seems to support that it is true to some degree, but once again I don't know too many people personally who are vegetarian, in fact the people on this board are the most that I actually know of. I don't eat much meat at all and hope to give it up all together for health reasons soon. I dont really want to get into the other reason regarding animal abuse etc about this, I get that.
Thanks all.

Therefore I will atest that they may be less likely to get colon cancer. Completely unfounded of course.

Though as I said earlier, anything I have to say regarding the issue is completely unfounded and mere speculation. Im sure Google could help you find some answers.

But my opinion on the whole thing is that there are so many things which we are told are going to increase or decrease our chances of getting cancer, or heart disease, or blah blah blah [insert disease/condition here], that for the most part its not worth worrying about.
We all know that smoking massively increases your chances of getting lung cancer, but does it seem to bother most smokers? Not at all. You either get cancer or you don't, and some heavy smokers get away with it, and some non-smokers get lung cancer.
At the end of the day, we are dealt a hand, and it is what we make of it that matters, not the tricks you've got to work out what everyone else is holding.

In fact, sitting here talking on talkbass will give you cancer... http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...A&refer=europe |

My family has a history of high cholesterol levels leading to heart attacks - my dad's dad died when my dad was 18/19, and my dad's brother is on cholesterol medication, and will be for the rest of his life. Luckily my dad does not have the condition, and neither do I, so I feel quite lucky.
