Questions about Anime dialogue

Sign in to disble this ad
To me, Anime has "machine gun" dialogue. Not sure how to phrase this---Is that how Japanese sounds when translated to english or do the animators, etc fill up the scene so the words will match (kinda) the character's mouths?

Not quite sure I understand your post, but Japanese is incredibly difficult to translate into English. You can translate a simple statement in so many ways. What you are talking about though might just be bad animation.

Japanese language in the original version to me sounds much cooler, sharper, more staccato than English. what's really funny was seeing the little red haired woman who does the voice for Naruto.

What's not to love- little girls with guns?

+1. Also the way the language flows is totally different than English. There is a lot more call and response to it. Different parts of Japan speak differently too. Osaka people fire out Japanese like a machine gun for sure. Tokyo is a little bit slower, but more refined. Rural Japanese, my favorite is soothing. I love country Japanese chicks. Actually, I don't care where they come from.

Man, my sister got some anime from Thailand or something with English subtitles, but little did she know, they were true literal translations! It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!
Example: Two kids in a race-
Kid1: I loving race! Win true, I hope for one!
Kid2: Nothing! Great legs, don't die for losing!
Kid1: I win! The sun is in me, I wish.

Yeah, it gets even weirder.
