I believe that I have over stayed my welcome here at TB and the time has come for me to take my leave.
The level of political correctness and censorship here has risen to such a level recently that I'm sure my frustration will just end up in me being banned eventually.
I mean, when a thread discussing the Bill of Rights 2nd. amendment gets nuked while "proud to be gay" threads consistantly reach double digits in pages, The forum for honest open discussion has become lost.
When a man posts pics of himself in womens clothes is accepted (as it shoud be) but commenting on it gets a person temp-banned, theselective double standard is something I am no longer interested in being part of.
In parting, I would like to thank:
J.T - for always being fair and rational
Maki and Eric - for making me laugh
Dr. Cheese and Munji - for well thought out posts
Agedhorse and Bill Fitz. - for their technical expertise.
Good luck to all, and I truly hope that "Political Correctness" (whatever that really means) doesn't bring Talkbass to a complete halt by not allowing anyone to post anything about anything. FIN! |

I can't remember how many times I have typed out a reply in a thread only to delete it before posting for fear of pissing off the powers that be. It's sad when adults can talk like adults.
I wish you all the best.

See You soon .
OT is a place not to be in if the forum policy, TOS, or anything else contradicts our beliefs. I try hard not to engage myself in some threads, no matter how intriguing the subject, because I know that I can't keep my typing fingers at rest.
Your username (I'm a biker/wrench) is somewhat familiar to me, so I'll miss seeing your comments. Comments I can pick out from the random sea of posts by people whose usernames I don't remember.
If Your decision is final, take care, rubber side down and keep the flies out of Your mouth bro.
Regards
Sam |

While I also understand your frustration I disagree with your leaving as now there is one less of us and that is sad.

If everyone let it fall to the side, then where would be as a people, country or a world?
Take a few weeks and consider it before you walk away entirely. I'd hate to see anyone walk away from a "public forum".
If you are truly done - I wish you all the best in your future.
Cheers, Gus.

An ammendment to the bill of rights is a political thing. Politics are a no-no here because they always just end up beign nout more than a cluster****.
The threads about people being gay, nothing wrong with people expressing themselves in that manner. If you don't agree with it (or with any post/thread), then just rationally state your objection or leave it.
I'm sure you'll be back, I've been on the end of the temp ban stick before, but this place is worth it. Even if you do get nuked now and again

But you might also want to consider taking a bit of hiatus then coming back? I've done the same myself, sometimes you just need to.
Regardless, best of luck and hopefully we'll see you again sometime.
