Do you leave your phone number in the post? I don't have a cell phone and didn't put my home number out there because I'm leery of doing that. The only way people can contact me is via the email option. I'm wondering if this is deterring people.

If the person manages to solve them and contact him (via some strange method involving smoke signals and a series of mirrors) they are deemed worthy of buying his pink Lakland.
So far, nobody has been successful.

I've never had a problem and usually don't even have it on me, so they leave a message.

When I get the emails, I only respond to people who can spell.

Got several calls, all from people interested in the car. Got just as many e-mails too, and replied to all of them. But the three people that actually came to look at the car (including the eventual buyer) all called me. |

| | | | My experience has always been that an item gets sold a *lot* quicker if I put my phone number in.
However, if I'm not in any rush and fear the listing of a particular item will unfortunately result in a multitude of questions that have either been answered originally in the ad or a slew of scammers, I'll put in a sentence in the ad dictating people who send e-mail to put the word "banana" as their subject line.
Any non banana-titled e-mails automatically get deleted.
Works for me. |

| | | | It's email only for me too. And I make a habit to NOT meet the potential buyer at my home. A neutral public place is much safer when your dealing with strangers. |
