Rain is kind of terrible

especially when you are in teh woods and it is humid, and your boots are soaked and all of the clothes and all your possessions are wet, and there is no hope of things getting drier because the rain keeps bringing you PAIN.

I took a couple days off from my hike. Be back at it on sunday.

umm, isn't technology against the rules of this whole "hike" thing?

and just curious, but where do you go to "take a break" from a hike? Do they have hiker motels?

Glad to hear you're having fun, man. Hiking in Colorado was unreal. Nothing quite like meditating at the top of a twelve-thousand foot peak after you've just finished a hike that involved you and a 70 degree grade mountain.

Suck it up!

Try going through jungle training school in Panama! That was hell, but it was fun.

I used my Go Go Gadget Helicopter in my swiss army knife and flew home.

if are you talking electronic gear, whenever I hike I have that stuff on me in ziploc baggies so they don't get trashed. Otherwise, suck it up, it's nature, and rain is nature. I keep my spare socks / wallet the same way. Is the "bugs suck" thread next?

Ah, that summer rain that you easterners get. Always seemed very strange to me. The idea of warm and raining is very weird.
