A random story of how I hurt my wrist...

Sign in to disble this ad
...with a bass.

I have several marks of many niggling little injuries and blemishes on my hands - dog bite, kitchen knife, tools, calluses, etc. Today, I get to add a new one that list.

I was picking the thing up out of the stand and for whatever reason, my hand and forearm just involuntarily flicked the thing upwards. I guess my brain was thinking it'd look cool if I snapped it up mid-air or something.

Well, as it turns out 1) I can't judge strength of my own wrist and forearm, and more importantly, 2) strap button is freaking sharp!

Not the most exciting story involving a bass, especially around these parts, and a very minor injury to speak of but just thought I'd share. So take care of your instruments, fellow TBers; you never know when your instrument will bite back!

I picked up a bass I had not played in over a year....it chewed my finger off.
Respect the instrument, they can get nasty!
