Amazing how much traction that song is getting. Wonder if The General is getting royalties?

Actually that was a good little groove. Man how fun would it be to be able to just pick up and jam with the Roots everyday? I love the look Randy and Questlove share at the end.

This is possibly the best thing I've seen on the internet this afternoon.

The law requires that he does. I hope he gets rich from stuff like this.

It's really ironic that NBC is making such a big deal over Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien when Jimmy Fallon has the coolest show on late night/early morning, IMO.

a friend of mine's band is being managed by randy jackson. At one point he (the friend) wanted to talk to me about "getting together in the future".

that phone conversation obviously didn't happen, cause i'm at the office right now.

paper tongues is the band...

As I've said before, I really admire Randy Jackson. He is a master bassist, a great producer, music director, and corporate executive. The man has certainly made the most of his chances!

His American Idol persona is grating, but that's no biggie.

he really sounds great there. i always knew he was a groove machine, but this is refreshing my memmory.. i wonder if randy played on any albums i'd dig? anyone have anything with him on it?

his sound is great.. is that a sadowsky? seems to be but im not entirely sure.. headstock looked a little strange to me. sounded great though.

He's on Tony MacAlpine's Eyes of the World album along with Juan Alderete.

Nice clip, thanks for posting!

Yeah Randy is a good player, for sure.

He played on some Mariah records, and a Madonna or two, iirc, as well as his stint in Journey.

I'm sure his Wiki has a discography....

I saw it last night on TV - I have to say I actually like Jimmy Fallon's show (not a fan of his SNL days). That, and The Roots are best band of the late-night shows.

During the show, they also showed this picture of Randy when he was the bassist for Journey:

A craps-table bass with Dice-knobs?! It's a good thing he ditched the hair, though
