Rate the band myspace above you

Like the title says, post your myspace and rate the one above you out of ten, bands allowed.

This is my bands website, we are The City Walls.

There are still a few niggles I'm yet to correct, any coding bods know the classname for the links at the bottom, the ones that overlap the comment box.

And also, I cannot get that mailing list signup form to go into the center no matter what I do. I've put the center tags around and they don't do anything, I'm stumped

Appart from that it's all done.

The City Walls

Btw I did search but I couldn't find any similar threads.

Oh and yeah, the one with no arms is our drummer, his name is Cornel Munn, he came joint second in young drummer of the year a few years back and he's been on tele quite a few times, he's quite well known.

i used to do bass in this band, i am still in it but i only do vocals now. i moved away so it's been harder for me to elarn the songs on both bass and vocals while being a little far away.

i did however play the bass on these recordings

I'm honestly trying but I just don't dig that music, I like the actual music but the vocals grate on me. They're pretty well recorded and I dig the riffs, I couldn't really hear the bass though

I'll give you lot a 5 because I the vocals hurt my brain but the riffs are pretty sweet.

I imagine people who look that stuff would dig it.

As far as the Myspace itself, well it contains one of my Myspace pet peeves, and that's pages with fonts that are too large, and none of the sections have borders. Just makes the page look extremely messy. Not the worst I've seen though.

Overall, I say a 7.6.

Now my band..

www.myspace.com/morsnoise

Drum and bass only. No guitars, no vocals. Stoner rock/doom.

I feel like our sound is expressed infinitely better live than it ever could be on recordings. We play extremely loud live, so I recommend turning the volume up as loud as you're comfortable with when you listen to our stuff online, that'll get you in the ballpark anyways. Check out some of our pictures too, especially the newest ones from our show on June 20th. We also have a couple videos up of some newer songs. Also, the animated banner in our profile was made by me, so feel free to critique that as well.

I'd say a 7. Fairly concise, solid recordings, easy to read, but that cheesy .gif with the pot leaf dragged it down.

My band's site is www.myspace.com/calvaryrock

Fair enough. And I'm well aware of the cheesiness of that .gif.

I'll leave your band for someone else since I've done one already.

7. The music is not my thing, but it seems fairly well played and nothing seems way out of place in the mix. The band pics strike me as odd - group shot and individuals. You've got two guys who look like they want to kills someone and two that look like they want to go outside and play. It seems a bit disjointed to this old guy.

Here's my band...www.myspace.com/blindlikesam One newspaper writer descibed us as "propulsive power pop". I guess that fits.

Nice, I'll give at an 8.

Nice layout, I like that you can view different sections without exiting the main page.

Your recordings are very good. I like the tunes!

I dig the background, but it seems to make the text harder to read. Also, I'd look into centering up the stuff on the side bar.

Dig the tunes. I'd definitely catch you guys live if I had the chance. I think you guys would benefit from a more attractive page, though. Gonna give it a 6.5

(Mines in the sig)

GroovElement gets an 8. Nice clean layout. I would like some more info about the band. "Rock & Latin" don't seem to identify your group very well, there are strong Reggae elements. The recordings sound pretty good through my laptop speakers. I dig it.

Peace,
Joe

Likes:

Very nice looking page! I really like the songs. Great songwriting. I also like the vocals alot. Very nice bass tone... really comes thru. So nice to NOT hear a guitar band for a change.

Dislikes:

I think the weakest aspect is the actual recording quality of the songs. Recording does not sound as 'pro' as it could. Not enough highs IMO.

Also, I find the rotating pics in the upper left a little distracting. Might be better to just have stills.

8.5 /10 overall

Here's mine:

Roots Rock & Rockabilly!

http://www.myspace.com/dickcashrockabilly

Couple notes: I did the myspace. Its okay, nothing special. The first song "Johnny & Lucy" is a digital 3rd generation (lost the original cd). That song was recorded before I joined the band. The previous bassist's style is very different from mine. I am the bassist on the rest of the recordings. Anyway, that song sounds crappy, in terms of recording, compared to the other songs. We actually had all the songs mastered after I put them up, but the bandleader wont let me put the mastered songs up since he doesnt want to lose the hits.

Nice! The key player is pretty sick. I'd rate it a solid 7.5. Not my favorite stylistically speaking, but i can tell a well put together band!

Here's my main band at the moment. Crappy recording pre-me and the guitarist with the singer and our drummer doing drums, bass and guitar... real recordings comming soon!

Giving a thumbs up to a band from where I graduated high school from. Not bad for a pre-me recording. Sounds like the stuff I listened to in my adolescent years, but with chick vocals.

Anyway, here's my main gig, although I'm in 2 other bands. We don't have any real recordings, just recorded practices. No money for a real session yet. thank God I'm in 2 other bands that like to record.

Wayfarer's Journey (prog rock stuff)

I've always liked the Cap'n and love the mission statement. I can hear a lot of different influences in the music from my youth, so 2 thumbs up, or on a scale of 1-10, let's go with 9.25!

Nice Dingwall, and thanks for the compliments. I like your southern rock style. I bet you guys get plenty of gigs down in Tennessee.

So you guys like the Doors, huh? You only had one song up so I could only go by what I heard. 7.5 out of 10.

Here's my other band. Think Tom Petty meets Bob Dylan.

Well, in my post I was referring to my roots rock band "Dick Cash". I've been in that band for about 2 years. I just started the doors trib a couple months ago.

So yeah, I meant for the Dick Cash page to be rated.
