If my assumption is correct, I suggest heading over to your guidance counsellor and asking to see the national college ranking list. Many of those periodicals subdivide universities by area of study and rate them like that, as well. Those schools are all over the US and each will have a different atmosphere. If you are serious about certain ones, convince your parents to go visit them. |

Visit every place that invites you to interview. At the end of that process you will know just where you want to be. Enjoy the process if you can. From the way you posted the question, I would not wish to read too much into what you might be thinking, but try not to sound arrogant on your interviews.

UT-Austin is pretty much THE best public school in Texas, and competes on a national level with tons of other schools. Its a great school and is pretty reasonably priced for the quality of education.
