The new all-time career 3-point shooter. I think he deserves his own thread. The consumate professional, always a team player and humble about his achievements. Way to go, Ray!

I'm a fan of Ray Allen because he graduated from my old high school, defunct Hillcrest High of Dalzell, SC. He was also a student of my Mother, RIP, in the 9th grade, I think.

I like him for his portrayal of Jesus Shuttlesworth in Spike Lee's "He Got Game."

amazing achievement!!!
currently, he is approximately 1000 "3 pointers" ahead of the next active player, Jason Kidd. i also had no idea how many R. Miller had made. that record lasted him quite a while, as will Ray's.

Ha. I knew the Lakers would make it into this thread, but I didn't know it would be in post #2.

I saw Ray set the record for three pointers in a season when the Sonics were still in Seattle. I sure miss that guy, makes me sad to think about those days and the 90's.

I was reading an article on ESPN.com about him. Apparently he spends hours before and after practice just shooting. Now there's a dedicated guy. Good for him.

Being a Laker fan, I'm obviously glad that they won. However, Ray is a very special player and deserves his due. You have to be special to top Reggie Miller's record in fewer games!!!

It is easy to root for Ray - great shooter, tough defender (post 2 notwithstanding ) and a classy guy.

The one that broke the record was a clinic in fast-break basketball. He hustled down the court and Rondo delivered the ball in a perfect spot with perfect timing.

Major kudos to Reggie Miller as well, he has been great throughout Ray's pursuit of the record.

I tried to find a pic of Ray Allen dunking on Kobe, or any Laker for that matter, and all I got was more pictures of Ray being dunked on. DOH!

Ray had the last points of the game... and it was a dunk.

Besides, we all know that in a best of 7, the celtics have this one.

Lakers can't even muster the energy to beat the clippers, not to mention the Spurs, or the Heat.
