Hi all,
I'd like to get some help finding a decent, reasonably priced hotel for a short stay in Manhattan.
I usually have all expenses paid when I gig there but this time it's for a little vacation with my girl and the in-laws and the hotels I usually stay in are out of price.
I checked out the Gerschwin Hotel already but they're out of their less expensive rooms so I'd like your input as to where to look next. Is there something similar to the Pod Hotel but less expensive?
What any other places you guys would recommend that would be around 165$ a night?
Forward thanks!

Like all the Ian Schrager Boutique Hotels, they have small but stylish rooms and a semi- bohemian, funky/cool bar and/or restaurant off the lobby. The cheaper rooms go fast, but there are several Schrager hotels to choose from in Manhattan

The site has very cool places. Have you tried it yourself? Are these people and site leggit? Cause you have to pay them a security deposit in most cases. |

It's a lot cheaper than most places on the island as I've gotten deals for $99 and $129 but it fluctuates. With little ones you may want to be in walking distance, just tossing out an option.
Another suggestion......
Ask for a corporate rate at any of the bigger chains (Hilton, Marriott). Say that you work for GE or any consulting firm (have the most arrangements). My company gets one at most hotels and I've never been asked for a business card or proof. |

It is located @ 514 W. 42nd and offers a free indoor heated parking garage which in my opinion is a great value in terms of security and $ and time saved trying to find parking. Plus they have a courtyard with a pool! This is my base of operations for all NYC trips. Midtown Manhattan Hotels - The Travel Inn, New York, NY |

| | | hahahahahahahaha.... reasonable price... Manhattan?
Sorry... I think outside of Manhattan has a better chance than in the city itself. I would check if Staten Island had something nice. For some reason, none of the boroughs seem trust worthy for hotels.... (Yes, I speak as if SI is not a borrow )
