Recomend me some Pre-metal music

So my music is getting a wee bit boring, and I have always loved the pre-metal and power trio type music (blue cheer, steppenwolf, Rush, Grand funk, Sabbath) but I dont know much. Any help would be great.

If you haven't already, check out some of Cream's live jams- there're some good ones on youtube.

I'm guessing it's Plant's falsetto vocals.

Check Out Umphrey's McGee for some current stuff,

Also Moe.

I'd say, Plant's inability to hit or sustain a note accurately.

Here's a good video of Cream if you wan't to check 'em out. Shorter than a lot of their jams, but it's a good one.

Blue Oyster Cult for sure. So friggin' riff driven and tight. Even if you get a "the best of..." album it'll be full of gems. I have this one on regular play....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t...3%96yster_Cult

....they are definately one of the most solidly tight bands ever.

+1

I think you might also enjoy Thin Lizzy if you don't already. I need to get more of their stuff myself.

Also:
Genesis
King Crimson
Electric Light Orchestra?

Humble Pie: Eat It / Smokin' / Live At The Wiskey A-Go-Go / Rockin' The Filmore
Pat Travers: His early stuff. IMO, he's got quite a nasty sound to his licks.
Jimi Hendrix: Depends on what you're looking for. I prefer Band Of Gypsies stuff over The J.H. Experience stuff.
Ramones? MC5? Uriah Heep? Iron Butterfly?
