Well, the xB needs some sort of car air freshener. My girlfriend and I went looking around town for something good, but we couldn't find anything that had really strong, permeating scents that would fill my car.
I've been told a lot of good car air fresheners are made in Japan, but I have no idea about brands or anything. If someone can recommend me some good stuff, I can buy a small stockpile of it. I don't have any preferences for smell, but my girlfriend likes lavender, or other plant/flower smells. I just want something that smells nice.

Id recommend just cleaning the car rather than covering up whatever smells are in there with some putrid assortment of chemicals hanging from the rear view mirror.

Right now it doesn't smell like anything except semi-new car, because I just got the car a month ago.

Try using "orange cleaner" in whatever brand. However be careful. It can harm plastic/vinal surfaces if not cleaned off quickly.
The smell of air freshener in a car is worse than BO IMO. And I can smell extremely well. I can smell if the person driving in front of me is smoking on the highway. Yuck.

I love the "Ric-O-Smell".

It certainly has the "really strong, permeating scent" you specified. Coverage area 30-60 feet in a closed environment. Lasts for months. Take your pick:
Black Ice
Ice Blue
Sweet Pear
Lively Lemon
Green Apple
Strawberry
Wild Cherry
New Car Scent
Summer Surf
Lavender
Sunny Citrus
Mango
Pina Colada
Berry Patch
Spring Essence
Pink Grapefruit
Morning Fresh
Victory Lane
Inspire

I think they are kind of spendy, so if you are looking for cheap, you always have the "tree" option. Vanillaroma was popular back in the late 80's when I always used them, and I see that it still is today. My son put one in his car.

Inspire | I might worry about being tempted to eat some of those on long car journeys!!
