It picked up a couple threats and wiped them out. It put a little message in the corner of my taskbar about it instead of flashing crap all over my screen and acting like the world was about to end.
If you are one of the "Microsoft sucks" crowd, then I suggest AVG. I used to use that, and it was great.
What do you have for a firewall?

I see AVG on some of my customers comps...and it seems OK...but I don't like the in your face notes it seems to use. I like my background programs to stay in the background.
Cheers,
BT

Macs aren't virus free. They're just less virus prone because no one cares about them.

-Mike | Right now I have the Windows Defender turned on.
I have Norton Anti-spyware, but it sure takes a long time to get going after startup.
There is also SuperAntispyware and Spybot on the computer that I run every so often.
I'm going to give Avast and AVG a look. |

AVG is the best free protection out there.
