Recommend some Sega Genesis games

Sign in to disble this ad
I stumbled across my Sega Genesis buried in my closet and have been playing it religiously over the past few days. I never really had too many video games growing up so I missed out on the glory days of the system. I need more games, so I'll take any recommendations you can give me. Any type of game is fine. Also feel free to share why you like the games you are recommending. To help you out here are the games I currently own:

NHL 95
NBA Showdown 94
Beavis and Butthead
Mortal Kombat
Sport Talk Baseball
Madden 94
Deion Sanders Prime Time Football
Altered Beast
Sonic 2
Wrestlemania The Arcade Game
Barkley's Shut Up And Jam 2

My favorite Sega Genesis game was Afterburner 2. I could play that game all day long.

In remembrance of the days that a pair of rolled up socks and two garbage cans provided hours of "NBA Basketball" entertainment...

Great Game For Sega Genesis

I had a Turbo back in the day (still have it actually) so I didn't play Genesis that much.

I seem to remember greatly enjoying "Toe Jam and Earl".

Good game.

There was another that I really enjoyed, though I don't remember the name. You played twin brothers (and I believe you could switch between the two of them) who used a range of weapons. You could change the power of the weapons by picking up little orbs with various symbols on them. I don't really remember the storyline, but maybe someone will be able to tell you what this game was called.

Streets of Rage
Golden Axe
Almost any Sonic
Almost any Mortal Kombat
Lethal Enforcers
Predator II
NBA Jam
NHL games were decent
Madden games were alright if you are into football

I will see if I can remember any more later today.

Any of the Road Rash series

Racin' crotch-rockets at insane speeds through various serene landscapes whilst
kickin', punchin', and clobberin' one another with clubs & chains for points and $$$

Altered Beast is the best game ever! Shinobi, Streets of Rage, are great already mentioned games. You need Mortal Kombat II. And I can't believe nobody mentioned....

I'll most likely pick up NBA Jam Tournament Edition since I've actually owned the strategy guide for years. I look forward to having Fresh Prince(Will Smith) dunk over Bill Clinton.

You've already got some of my favorites, wasn't there some street fighter gams on Sega? If so find those and get EVERY Mortal Kombat!
When you go to get them from the store, if its a mortal kombet game look at the game, stretch out your arm, then scream "GET OVER HERE!"...
Youll look like an a-hole but Id like to see that happen lol.

Mortal Kombat 1, 2, & 3

All these are epic games by my standards (besides Toe Jam & Earl, which is just.... *interesting* to say the least. )

I was never into sports games so maybe someone else can help you out there.
