I'm looking at you Star Wars prequels and Avatar.

Just make it happen, fercrissakes!"

Basically It has to do with the fact that you either have blockbusters of a ridiculous scale like "Avatar" or they don't make enough money so they've resorted to remaking stories that have already succeeded and therefore have some sort of proven track record. I do not see the sense in this "logic."
So basically, Hollywood has been out of ideas for about 15 years, and are so apathetic and have such little regard for their viewership, that remakes are their only bankable option.
Bigger, Glossier, Louder. It's like I've said in regards to the whole second renaissance with 3D, and the fact that there are electronics manufacturers clammoring to get 3d HDTV's into people's homes. Now, the early adopters are always in a serious wallet -to -brains defecit, and will help usher this in as a new standard, but I alreadt don't like wearing ill-fitting glasses at the movies, so I CERTAINLY do NOT want to do that same thing at home....but so may others think it's a good idea....read the SONY article in the new Wired. They are staking their future on it. There's certainly a serious lack of content, what, you gonna pay 3 grand for a tv to watch Avatar over and over? PASS.

Sounds like you need to suspend disbelief, lower your standards, get a big bucket of popcorn, relax, and let the weak plot and seen-it-all-before CGI hit you in the dead spots of your brain.
Yep, I'll be there!

The 3D in Alice in Wonderland was done afterwards, and it turned out kinda crappy. Oh well, I wont be paying for it, only with an hour and forty-five minutes of my time, and Ive wasted more doing much less. Quote:

The deciding factor is usually the visuals. Now, in a 50"-big-screen-surround-sound-blue-ray-subwoofers-in-every-home-CGI-is-getting-old world, Hollywood is scrambling to find a way to justify charging $35 for two people to go to the theater. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
