Relic'ing a Strat with Fire and a Chevy! Don't shoot I'm just the... A joke between a few of my guitar buddies is "If they call 'em Road Worn, they better have been dragged behind a car!" Well that's exactly what we did. An unloved dusty Austin Strat copy now a really cool bar jam guitar! http://youtu.be/rq_4e13YLTo |
Man, I swear I did the exact same thing to my very first electric guitar that I got in 1973: Set it on fire, then tied it behind my buddy's station wagon and had him drive down the street towing that flaming mess. In retrospect, we should've been spanked for abusing a musical instrument that way. |
Not gonna lie, I like the finished product. |
lol. love it. |
Nice Job! Very "Natural" wear pattern. I think you could go "extra crispy" on the headstock. |
I just posted on your you-tube vid that you should put a Tire Skid mark across the Pickguard. You know - complete the look. |
Hahahah, lookin good. |
Might have to try that on my Squier '51 P.... |
Thanks guys, love the positive feedback. One thing I want to point out; cheaper guitars seem to have a super thick finish. I would never try this with a quality instrument. It took me less than a week to get my first accident scratch on my new US Fender P-bass :bawl: |
Now sell it for $1200. :D |
