I just read that Universal Studios is in the planning stage for a re-make of Scarface.
Uhmmm... I really can't even imagine how they could improve upon Pacino's performance or, heck, the movie as a whole!
Maybe Matt Daimon could play Scareface! LMAO!

We all know how awesome the Star Wars prequels were...
Only prequel I've been interested in in DECADES is the Alien prequel "Prometheus". One because it's not a direct prequel per se, and two because Ridley Scott is directing.

I've heard and read thoughts on the "space jockeys" from the original movie being the arcitects of the universe and that the aliens as we know them were initially meant as 'planet cleansers" in the thought of global "reset" for repopulating / repurposing worlds, etc"...I thought it was an interesting premise, and would explain why the Aliens have a exo-skeletal structure resembling the jockeys..maybe something went wrong and an egg attacked a Jockey pilot...hence the distress beacon from the original movie...and the rest is history (well, save for Resurrection, which I thought was garbage.)

From what I've seen/read, it's the story of the discovery of the ship by the Norwegians. Now, it may indeed be a remake/update of the original (with James Arness as the thing), that I'm not sure about.
I'd love for them to make it creepy and scary like the original.

I'd love for them to make it creepy and scary like the original. | I sure hope so, but my jaded side fears, in current Hollywood fashion, that they will revamp just known scenes from the Kurt Russel remake, yet try to "one up" it in every sense, and just fail and at the same time sully all the good things that made the last one so memorable. CGI be damned, the practical effects in the last one were incredible and perfect for it.

Also I was kinda mad they skewed away from the original "Alien" prequel idea but "Prometheus" is still gonna rule. AFAIK most of the Dark Horse comics and books are considered "canon" for both Alien and Predator mythology (yeah I still get nerdy for that stuff! ) so I was hoping for something that bridged the gap of Weyland-Yutani even knowing about LV-426 before sending The Nostromo to "pick up" the eggs in the original movie. Oh well. Maybe they can still do it after this one.
Also this would be the second "Scarface" remake...
But it will be terrible. They'll probably cast Tyrese Gibson as Tony Montana and Beyonce as Elvira or something... |

They found the ship, tried to blow it up, put the alien on ice, etc.. I think it'll be good.
Down side is, you at least know how it's gonna end!! |

I am counting it down for sure, it's gonna be awesome.
