We probably really don't want to know. This hurts those who serve our country with great honor the most. |

He more than likely gave up 1/2 month's pay for at least a month, and he got kicked out of the corps. Why would you think that's just to avoid more press?

in light of what i've already seen caught on tape (really, who in their right mind posts a video of soldiers gang-raping a woman???), i really don't want to know.
that said, nuff respect to all the honorable soldiers (especially the bass playing ones right here on TB) who witness violence everyday and do not engage in power trips over a conquered country.

Right here in our area, two young men killed a pregnant, minature donkey. For no reason. It hadn't done anything to them. It had gotten out of its pasture, at night, and they just decided to go mess with it, and then they killed it.
One of them is an active-duty Marine, who was home on leave from Iraq. He serves in a very intense combat role...won't go into detail here, since I don't know all of them.
Don't know what ultimately happened, but he has been in San Diego while the Marines decide what to do with him.
Those two guys had been very close friends of my son. But now, my son will have nothing whatever to do with them, and doesn't even run with that group of buddies anymore. He's mad that the group didn't express enough disapproval, and with good reason. I have a good kid. Thank God.
As someone else commented, I wonder how much of this type of thing goes on that we never hear about.

I am not a military guy so i don't exaclty know what all is involved in being expelled from the marines but it seems like maliciously killing a puppy on video while laughing about it AND THEN posting it on the internet as some sort of showing off should have some pretty steep punishments. I am just highly intolerant of those who abuse animals.

If you take a cross section of any group (military, police, teachers, doctors) you will find a certain percentage are asshats to begin with tho.....

It seems that if he were, let's say, a black NFL quarterback that he would be doing time in a federal pen right now |

The guy is just a messed up individual and needs to be treated like one.
People see the uniform and automatically assume it made him that way... We have no way of knowing, but the ratio of soldiers who are like this to those who are not make it seem like it boils down to the individual and most likely their pre-existing mental condition... Instead of the "evil" Army/Marines.
Just sayin'..

Much better way of saying what was going through my head as I read some of the crap in this thread. .
