Remember When TalkBass Threads used to Load fast?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm really disappointed with how slow the pages are loading on TalkBass now. I have high speed. I get the ad at the top of the page immediately then the thread comes thru about 5 seconds later.

I don't have that problem.

It loads very fast for me, and I am far away from the server.

Maybe it is your internet provider.

No troubles here, fast as ever, if not faster.

Fine for me, go kick your ISP in the face.

Mostly the pages loads quickly, but sometimes it takes ages. I have adblock installed so it's not the ads causing it. Strangely enough, it mostly happens during the day here in Europe when the number of visitors on the pages is low.

Mine's slow at times as well. I think I can rule out my internet connection, as well. It happens here at work, at home, and at my girlfriend's house. Unless Verizon/Level3 is having some sort of odd routing issue on a backhaul or something, I don't think this is ISP related.
Next time it's slow, do a PING talkbass.com -t from a command line. See what kind of response you get. That'll help tell you . Also can do a trace route to see where things are possibly getting held up.

I found the easiest solution is just to call Pacman up and ask him to pedal a bit faster. Try it.

If PacMan is the one on pedal duty, that explains a lot

Works fine both at work and at home for me.

Perhaps the internet tubes in your area are getting clogged. You might need an internet plumber.

Try turning your bass control down and boost the gain going into the preamp, see if that helps!

Mine does it faster than ever.

And why don't you have adblock to block those ads anyways?

1) Because it's not the ads that are holding the process up. On the somewhat rare occasion this happens, all the ads load fine. The actual goodies we're after does not.

2) Because I support TB. They get revenue from the ads. I've also found some cool readings, events, and deals in those ads.

Yeah, I'm sorry guys - I'm in Korea now, and the interweb bike has trouble working here. I'll be home tomorrow - try it then!
